Hello, my name is Lynnette Joy, I am a professional photographer and owner of a residential portrait studio in Petaluma which is located in Sonoma County, California. Photography has been a big part of my life since I was in my early 20′s. I was always the mom, the sister, the daughter, or the cousin, who always had the camera around my neck at every family event or wedding I went to. I had always dreamed of being the real photographer at the weddings that I attended.  I was the one who wanted to capture the moments as they were unfolding. My passion for art & photography started in high school, I continued into college taking as many art and photography courses that I could get my hands into. After college I became an art teacher teaching children of all ages the art of pottery and arts & crafts. It was after 16 years of teaching art that I decided to seriously pursue my passion for photography. I went back to college to re-learn the field of photography.  I fell in love with creating film images in black and white and then developing them in the college darkroom.  I just knew that I had learn as much as I could and chase my dream of becoming a photographer. Everyday I realize that I am one lucky woman that I am able to be so passionate about my job. There are so many lives I can touch with the memories that I capture with my camera. I am presently teaching digital photography courses and workshops throughout the San Francisco Bay area, I will be sharing photos from our field trips at the beautiful locations that we visit. I will also be sharing many of the photos of all of my special clients with you!
